Est emolliens efficacissimum ad hydrationem (aequilibrium humoris) strati cornei restituendam et conservandam, atque ita siccitatem et fissuras cutis impedit. Aeque magni momenti est quod transpirationem normalem cutis non mutat. Lanolinum demonstratum est aquam in cute ad gradum normalem 10-30% accumulare efficere, per retardationem et non omnino inhibitionem iacturae humoris transepidermalis.
